Cruising 101

Confession: I love to go on cruises. I didn't travel very much as a child, but when I did it was always with my grandparents, who love to cruise. And both a blessing and a curse - it rubbed off on me!

Cruising is an amazing form of travelling. You are able to squeeze many amazing destinations into a small period of time, and experience life on a ship! I love all of the amenities a cruise ship has to offer, and being able to be surrounded by water 24/7 is the best medication a doctor could prescribe.

Things to do while cruising:

  1. Book your dinner time ahead of schedule! This will give you structure to your day, plus the dinners on ships are awesome. Order as much as you want - it's covered!

  2. Get up early to sit by the pool. Cruise ships are notorious for making it difficult to find a good spot to lay down. If you get up early you have your pick!

  3. Make sure to book excursions ahead of time. You can save money and yourself a spot - popular excursions run out fast!

  4. Make sure to do it all! I love cruising because its a great mix of travelling and relaxation like a resort. If you;re someone who can't sit still you need to take advantage of all the activities cruises have planned for their passengers!

  5. Get up early. This may seem silly - you're on vacation after all, but early mornings on the ships are the best. Un crowded and great weather - you can nap in the afternoon!

Royal Caribbean is my favourite line to cruise on. But there are so many other options! Disney, Norwegian, Princess. You can also try smaller ones. On my bucket list is to do a Rhine River cruise!
