Morocco

I am so excited to say that I got to travel to another continent! I can now say that I've been Africa. I went on this trip with five other girls and we went to Chefchaoun, Tangier, and Asila. Disclaimer: my favorite place by far was Chefchaoun, so I will mostly be talking about our time there.

We flew into Tangier and almost immediately we had to get a taxi to Chefchaoun. We tried bargaining with the taxi drivers for a while but eventually we had to take a four-hour taxi drive with six girls and one driver in a normal five seat car. Needless to say, we won't be forgetting that squished and long car ride soon.

Once we got to Chefchaoun, we checked into our hostel, Riad Barka. I loved this hostel, I would definitely recommend this place! It is a cozy hostel with cute and authentic Moroccan decorations. We got to know the hostel managers and guests quite well, so once we got back from a day of exploring we got to continue the fun by hanging out with them.

We spent a couple days here and we mostly just walked around the city! I've never been to a place quite like it before, the streets, the walls, the buildings, everything is blue! We all got some great Instagram worthy pictures. There were so many interesting stores (we went into one that just sold perfume in block forms) and markets. Don't forget that haggling is acceptable and expected in Morocco! We also went to a few amazing restaurants. We all got some amazing food there! You have to try the couscous and mint tea!

We all felt very safe in Chefchaoun and I would recommend it to anyone. Next time I go to Morocco though, I'd love to visit Marrakesh and Fez. Anyone have travel tips for those places?
